Coda
I hope you, as members of the Columbus City Band, enjoyed the concert last night as much as I did. You played well, and the interaction between the audience and the band was exciting. What a fun evening. In fact, as I reflect upon the season, my hope is that you enjoy your participation in CCB as much as I enjoy working with the band. We work hard, I know, but we have our light moments, too. It all seems to balance out. Hopefully we’re growing as musicians and friends as a result. I can’t think of a place I would rather be on Monday evenings – good friends, good music, good humor and good work.
Have a nice break in August. Our next rehearsal will be Sept. 8. Our next gig is the following Saturday, Sept. 13, 2 p.m. at Crothersville’s Bicentennial. This has been on the books for about a year and a half. Jackson Co. likes its band music!
Have a great vacation. See you in September. For those of you old enough to remember, that’s the title of a great song made popular by the Four Lads in 19??.
