Merry Christmas to Columbus City Band!
Congrats on your concert yesterday at the Commons. It was well played, and the audience enjoyed the programming. I hope you will enjoy the Christmas Season and your well-earned time off on Monday nights. We will resume January 7 with Dick Parman at the wheel, while Jo and I spend some time at our place in Florida. The Winter Concert is February 24, which allows us only 5 rehearsals. Dick will have the first three, and I will resume duties on January 28. The concert includes some previously played selections, but American Overture will be a challenge. We CAN do it though.
Thank you for the nice Christmas card and gift. Please know we appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness, though your friendship and participation are quite enough. It is a pleasure to work with you each Monday night. Kind of like my “bowling night” out.
I want to thank Dick, in advance, for agreeing again to do the rehearsals while I’m MIA in January. Please make it a point to be in attendance, since we have only five rehearsals in which to prepare.
Our time following concerts is so packed with striking the stage that I cannot fully express how enjoyable it is to work with a group so dedicated. It is a privilege that I take very seriously. Thank you for all that you do. And thank you for being you – very nice folks.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
