Rehearsals for 2012-13 start up Monday, Aug. 27

Too true: Summer is fading, and some instruments are getting a wee bit overrun with cobwebs, so I hear.

So rehearsals are kicking into gear just in time. See you Monday night at 7 p.m. at Central Middle School. Then we have Labor Day off, followed by just a few weeks to get ready for our first concert of the season, Oct. 14.

I’m sad to report that as of now, we won’t be having our Christmas concert at the Commons. The cost to extend the stage to a usable depth was even more than the cost to rent the facility for the afternoon. Our city arts grant wouldn’t even cover the cost of putting on that one concert — at a nonprofit rate on the least costly time slot.
