Happy holidays from Steve

Great concert yesterday. The band’s quality of sound improves each time we gather. And the church, Asbury UM, acoustics are a definite plus … in spite of the logistical challenges. Enough of the “shop” talk. Needless to say, the audience enjoyed your playing, and that is most important.

As I announced yesterday, the music is pulled and being made ready for the next cycle, which begins Jan. 5, 2009. Dick Parman helped select the program, which is only right, since he will be conducting the February Winter Concert. Jo and I are going south for January to see if we like 70 degree weather in the middle of winter. Hmm…

We will return the last week of January, so I will have a couple of rehearsals to read the second or third clarinet parts for the concert. First concert I will have played with CCB for about 13 years. I know Dick is eagerly looking forward to working with the band. He is a fine musician and will do an excellent job.

I hope you and your families have a wonderful Holiday Season. Thanks for sharing your time and talent. See you in late January.

Steve
